SALARY: 35031.49 per annumHOURS: 39 per week 4 on 4 off shift pattern 06:00-17:30LOCATION: Days RoadRoRo Driver/Yard OperativePurpose of the role:To drive/operate roll-on-off and other specialist vehicles fixed/mobile plant and equipment.To assist in other general site operations to carry out daily maintenance of vehicles mobile plant and equipment and to perform general housekeeping duties at Refuse Transfer Stations and Household Refuse Recycling Centres (HRRC).Key Responsibilities:Drive specialist LGV Class II vehicles.Operate wheeled loading shovel and other plant and equipmentCarry out daily inspections / maintenance of vehicles / mobile plant and other equipment carrying out adjustments as required.Carry out general housekeeping of site grounds and buildings.Actively participate in full range of recycling activities / initiatives.Act as a Household Refuse Recycling Centre Attendant.Essential Requirements for the Role:LGV class 2 licenceCurrent CPCAbility to gain CITB Certification or equivalent on Wheeled Loading ShovelBasic literacy and numeracy skillsAbility to drive / operate a range of vehicles fixed / mobile plant and equipmentPrepared to work outside of normal hours to maintain the serviceMust be flexible and adaptable to change roles to meet operational requirementsGood team memberGood communication skills when dealing with problemsDesirable requirements/qualifications:RoRo Certificate/evidence of achievement and driving experience12 months operational experience on a Wheeled Loading Shovel12 months operational experience in waste disposal industryExperienced in the routine maintenance of vehicles / mobile plantSpecial conditions:There may be a requirement to work at other Bristol Waste Company locationsRequired to work weekends and all bank holidays (except Christmas Day Boxing Day and New Years Day)Expected to work reasonable overtime in line with the needs of the serviceYou may be asked to cover other Service areas including Refuse and Recycling loading dutiesMust be prepared and able to act in the role of Charge Hand to cover during periods of holidays and sickness when the situation demands.
