The Financial Controller will be the second in the finance department, supporting the Finance Director, and managing a team below. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the business as it scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Accounting: Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, consolidations, and multi-currency transactions.
  • International Finance: Manage financial operations across multiple international subsidiaries. Ensure compliance with local regulations and effective currency management.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and support for business growth.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies. Ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with relevant laws.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Significant post-qualification experience in a tech scaleup environment. Proven experience in managing international financial operations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS and GAAP.
    • Proficiency in financial reporting and consolidation.
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software and ERP systems.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
