Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Barnet Hospital neonatal team is an enthusiastic and innovative team looking at ways to redefine the way they work in a changing NHS climate; facing the challenges of providing the very best of clinical care in a neonatal setting. The neonatal service is well supported by a very experienced team of neonatal nurses, specialist Occupational therapists, dietician, neonatal Speech and Language therapy, physiotherapy and psychology. We are a developmental care ward promoting family integrated care. We are very proud to be the first UK neonatal unit to have 10 fully monitored residential mother and baby family rooms. We are also proud to have received praise for providing outstanding compassionate care on our level 2 neonatal unit in our most recent CQC assessment. We encourage a QI approach to further develop our clinical service.

  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • CCT in Paediatrics.
  • NLS provider
  • NLS instructor
  • Minimum 2 years middle grade tertiary neonatal experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous neonatal consultant experience
  • CCT in neonatology or Neonatal SPIN
Experience / KnowledgeEssential criteria
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the challenges facing the neonatal services
  • Previous experience with delivering part task training
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the sites in which the neonatal service is delivered
  • Working within an MDT setting
