Resident surveys consistently show Penrith City Council libraries to be one of the Citys most popular services.About the roleIn this role you will contribute to the delivery of an effective and efficient library service for the Penrith City Council community. Based at Penrith Central Library and other branch libraries as rostered you will provide high-quality customer service and support library operations. As a team leader you will supervise staff and take responsibility for the development implementation and promotion of programs and services for children and young adults including toy library operations. You will build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program delivery and community engagement. You will also play a key role in the planning and development of policies and procedures related to the Childrens Team ensuring services align with community needs and Council objectives.Essential criteriaRelevant degree qualification with eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or equivalentExceptional interpersonal and communication skills to serve a broad range of age groupsProven ability to design and deliver engaging programs for children and young adults that enhance the accessibility and relevance of library services for these groups and the broader communityDemonstrated strength in administration and project management with a proven track record of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and consistently meeting deadlinesStrong supervisory skills to manage a team with diverse responsibilitiesDemonstrated knowledge and skills in using library systems online databases and digital platforms and electronic resourcesCurrent class C Driver LicenceA valid NSW Working with Children CheckSalary: The salary for this position ranges from $92765 - $107380 per annum plus 12% Superannuation and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
