Our client is looking for a grinding operative to join their team in Sunderland

Job specification

  • Set up and operate grinding machines to grind metal workpieces according to blueprints, job orders, or specifications
  • Select and mount the appropriate grinding wheels and other tools required for the job
  • Load workpieces onto the grinding machine and unload them after the grinding process is complete
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications and tolerances
  • Routine maintenance on grinding machines, such as replacing worn grinding wheels and ensuring the machines are in good working condition
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection
  • Maintain accurate documentation of production reports, including dimensions, tolerances, and any issues encountered during the grinding process
  • Handle and recycle scrap materials generated during the grinding process

Personal Specification

  • Previous grinding experience
  • CSCS card
  • Desirable, driving licence with own transport
