Grinding Operative

Our client is looking for a grinding operative to join their team in Sunderland
Job specification
- Set up and operate grinding machines to grind metal workpieces according to blueprints, job orders, or specifications
- Select and mount the appropriate grinding wheels and other tools required for the job
- Load workpieces onto the grinding machine and unload them after the grinding process is complete
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications and tolerances
- Routine maintenance on grinding machines, such as replacing worn grinding wheels and ensuring the machines are in good working condition
- Adhere to safety guidelines and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection
- Maintain accurate documentation of production reports, including dimensions, tolerances, and any issues encountered during the grinding process
- Handle and recycle scrap materials generated during the grinding process
Personal Specification
- Previous grinding experience
- CSCS card
- Desirable, driving licence with own transport
