General Machinist

We are looking for a **General Machinist** for a **12-month** contract based in **Washington **on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

**Purpose of the Role**:
Vacancies have arisen for a number of** General Machinist **roles. The positions will report to a **Production Leader **and involve precision machining parts for the aerospace industry.

**As a General Machinist you will be responsible for**:

- Perform Manufacturing/Operational tasks consistent with the requirements of the team, statutory and company standards (e.g. Health, Safety, Environment, Quality Management).
- Participate in process improvement activities and compliance methodologies in order to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets. This may include elements of factory set up and workstation design.
- Follow production plans in order to meet customer requirements.
- Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements in order to satisfy customer needs.
- Contribute to achievement of cell performance targets.
- Recognise and perform asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high performance standard.
- It is a requirement of the role that you will have completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship of at least 3 years, including NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience in one or more of the following processes:

- Machining
- Balance
- De-burr
- Broach
- Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM)
- Grind
- A willingness to learn and adapt across a range of product types, processes, machines, and technologies.
