F&F Stores Ltd./Gettrend is a rapidly expanding E-commerce business. We offer a large selection of items for the whole family, ranging from toys, fashion, home accessories and beauty via popular E-commerce marketplaces and our own e-commerce website.


We are looking to recruit a Buying and QC Manager to join our fast-paced buying team, working closely with the Buying Director for a family-owned Ecommerce Retail Business. 


You will be responsible for a team of Assistant Buyers. You will be responsible for their learning and development while proactively seeking ways to continuously improve the buying and quality control function withing the business. You will have exceptional communication skills and be meticulous in your coordination of the department and its workflows.  The ideal candidate will lead, engage with, and support their team through all challenges they encounter.

 As an industry expert, you will be able to deep dive and micromanage the smaller details whilst also stepping back and maintaining a more holistic view of the wider business.


Responsibilities


1.            Procurement Management & Quality Control:

·        Complete Critical Path Management.

·        Work alongside the Buying Director and deputise in their absence.

·        Manage and oversee projects along with and on behalf of the Buying Director.

·        Develop and manage a QC process for goods imported globally.

2.            People management

·        Manage and develop the team reporting to you. Conducting 1-1, Probation reviews, Performance reviews, training and development programmes, absence management etc. all the while consistently applying company policies and procedures within the team.

3.            Inventory Management:

·        Regularly monitor and maintain inventory levels. Forecasts demand for certain products and makes orders accordingly.

·        Checks inventory tracks how inventory is used and adjusts purchasing habits in accord with apparent trends.

4.            Supplier Relationship Management:

·        Frequently review product performance and quality assurance for each supplier.

·        Apply the supplier compliance manual across all areas of the supply chain ensuring the business and its operation are always protected.

·        Communicates with suppliers ensuring products reach our warehouses and Ecommerce fulfilment centres in a timely manner, even when a deadline is tight.

5.            Continuous Improvement:

·        Ability to build a balanced commercial range that meets the customer needs and delivers the target performance.

·        Attend local and overseas trade shows / outlets, supplier markets.

Completes buying business trips as needed across the world.

 

Required Skills and qualifications

·        Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within retail.

·        Must have previous frontline supplier facing experience.

·        Proven experience managing, developing, and coaching several team members in a variety of roles.

·        Excellent organisational skills and ability to scope and develop new or improved core processes.

·        Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

·        Excellent negotiation skills.

·        Analytical thinking.

·        Self-driven with the ability to use their own initiative.

·        Open to change while possessing the abilities to efficiently manage this within the department.

·        Computer literate with sound excel skills (windows desktop/laptop and server systems.)

·        Ability to be agile, operate rapidly and be able to understand the wider business needs in an expanding and very diversified company.

 

The Buying and QC Manager role offers the chance to add immediate value with your skillset in a rapidly growing and evolving business. In return the position comes with a competitive salary, which is negotiable based on skill and experience. This role will also benefit from a 10% KPI bonus upon satisfactory completion of probation.
