A Process Engineer opportunity has become available with a growing engineering manufacturer supplying precision-engineered systems into high-spec, safety-critical sectors. With continued growth and investment in design, manufacturing, and process optimisation, they're looking for a Process Engineer to take ownership of manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement, and support long-term operational excellence. The role is based in the Birmingham area and offers a salary in the region of £45,000+, along with 33 days annual leave, and excellent long-term development potential. Process Engineer responsibilities include - Developing and optimising manufacturing processes from concept to production. Assessing production processes, collecting data, and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains. Designing, testing, and upgrading mechanical and automated systems, including batch operations. Leading the introduction and commissioning of new equipment on site. Creating clear documentation, SOPs, and process control plans. Implementing and maintaining 5S and other lean methodologies across production areas. Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve process issues. Supporting NPI and design activities with process data and operational feedback. Process Engineer desirable skills and experience - Experience in a similar role: Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, or Production Engineer. Proven background in process optimisation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP systems, and data-driven analysis. Exposure to PCB, electronics, chemical handling, or automotive manufacturing.
