Finance Analyst 

30k - 35k depending on experience 

Hours: 7am - 4.30pm 

Office Based Role 

We are working with one of our SME clients who are looking for a Finance Analyst who will play a critical role in supporting the financial health of their company by analysing financial data, preparing reports, and offering insights to drive strategic business decisions.

The ideal candidate would be a proactive and analytical individual with a strong passion for financial analysis and reporting. They should possess a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 

Duties:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK accounting standards.

Financial Transactions: To process financial transactions.

Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, identifying trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making.

Inventory Management: Analyse inventory data to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs. Monitor inventory turnover rates and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory. Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting.

Cost Control: Monitor and analyse costs, recommending cost-saving initiatives without compromising business quality or efficiency.Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making processes.

Business Partnering: Work closely with various departments, providing financial insights and guidance to support their objectives and projects.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and control.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & AbilityEducation: A professional qualification such as AAT or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a finance analyst or similar role.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software (e.g. Quickbooks, Xero) and strong Excel skills (formulas and pivot tables)

Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capabilities to analyse large financial and inventory data sets.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly and concisely.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to developing and maintaining robust financial processes.
