Production Engineer

Duties:

  • Analyse and improve production processes increase productivity and reduce waste
  • Identify and resolve production issues
  • Develop Systems, Standard Operating Procedures and Protocols
  • Review and adapt departmental process using KPI’s etc to ensure continuous improvements
  • Utilise lean manufacturing principles & other methodologies
  • Work closely with production management to streamline workflows
  • Provide input into the ongoing development of ERP / MRP software etc
  • Optimise the use of machinery / processes to increase output, lower costs and reduce error rate
  • Produce CapEx investment proposals to improve efficiency, lower error rates, reduce the impact of operations on the environment etc.
  • Occasional travel with overnight stays may be required


Experience required:

  • An industrial engineering qualification and extensive experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Must have expertise in lean manufacture, agile manufacture & Kaizen
  • Experience of using and contributing to the development of MRP systems is preferable
  • Must be able to build teams and develop strong relationships with co-workers and suppliers
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, be a strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Being ambitious & driven is a must with a mindset to always strive to achieve and make improvements
  • Must be able to motivate and inspire colleagues
  • Experienced of implementing change
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing qualifications are desirable
