Job Description: We are seeking two Junior Macro Research Analysts to join our dynamic team at Vanda Research. This role offers the potential to grow into a publishing analyst over time with hands-on experience and mentorship from our experienced team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the forefront of the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tactical macro and market research across equities, rates, currencies and commodities
  • Build and maintain financial models used to forecast short-term (1-3 month) macroeconomic and market outcomes
  • Aid more senior strategists in the publication of weekly research reports and slide decks
  • Develop expertise in relevant and topical niches as and when the business case arises e.g. European politics, US retail investor flows, EM Asia currencies
  • Help uncover new sources of economic and positioning data as well as frameworks to better utilize existing datasets

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in conducting macro or market analysis at an investment bank, asset manager or independent research consultancy
  • Keen interest in global economic and market developments and how they impact financial markets
  • An appreciation for shorter-term market analysis over longer-term fundamental research
  • Capable of analyzing large datasets, preferably via Python
  • Ability to write short research notes or market commentary
  • Can work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
