They have recently broadened their Macro division in London by establishing a new team and are in search of a Quantitative Research Analyst to enhance their operations.

Position Summary:

As a Quantitative Research Analyst focusing on Macro strategies, you will be integral to the team, engaging in comprehensive quantitative analysis. This encompasses alpha signal generation, strategy formulation, and performance optimization, particularly in the systematic trading of liquid macro futures instruments. Your insights will be pivotal in maintaining the team's competitive advantage in the financial markets.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Alpha Signal Generation: Execute in-depth quantitative analysis to discover and formulate new alpha signals and trading methodologies within liquid macro futures.
  • Strategy Formulation: Create, develop, and deploy systematic trading methodologies.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously enhance and refine existing strategies to improve outcomes and mitigate risks.
  • Data Evaluation: Conduct thorough data analysis and back-testing to confirm the effectiveness of trading methodologies.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with fellow researchers, traders, and technology experts to integrate strategies into the overall trading architecture.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: Proven experience in systematic trading of liquid macro futures, ideally from a buy-side institution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or C++. Expertise in data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Educational Background: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Financial Engineering.
  • Domain Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic concepts and their relevance to trading strategies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for quantitative analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, capable of articulating complex ideas to a varied audience.
