General Insurance offers a broad range of products to customers through a diversified multichannel distribution network.How you will create an impactCoordinating excess of loss and quota share cessions and/or related premium adjustments on numerous reinsurance programs across multiple lines of businessPerform allocations of deposit premiums on excess of loss contracts at a detailed code block levelCreating/reviewing journal entries monthlyCalculation of premium adjustmentsExperience in calculating and applying reinsurance both for premium and lossesInternal and external reinsurance financial bookingBroker/Reinsurer reporting including statements/bordereauCoordinating with Reinsurance Collections on settlements and cash applicationSupporting CFO and FP&A teams in answering questions on reinsurance activities for specific reinsurance programsResponsible for key reinsurance finance processes and associated controls including compliance with SOX controls and annual statutory and US GAAP audit reinsurance requestWhat youll need to succeedAdvanced degree and/or designation in a related field a plus (ACA CIMA ACCA)Extensive ceded reinsurance experience; increasing levels of responsibility in a large scale organizationKnowledge of reinsurance including underwriting claims accounting finance and associated process controls and systems preferredA reinsurance underwriting or broking background; related discipline experience such as Risk Capital ManagementKnowledge of accounting principles and practices the insurance/reinsurance markets and the analysis and reporting of financial dataStrong insurance-technical accounting expertise with an understanding of inter-relationships between balance sheet and income statement and an ability to analyze results accordinglyIndustry business acumen along with a clear understanding and awareness of global macroeconomic and other relevant factors impacting the business that manifest in financial resultsExperienced in leveraging a combination of onshore and offshore management and staff resources on a global basis maximizing the benefits of time zone differences to enhance productivitySystems-technical acumen able to quickly grasp management reporting structures understand a newly transformed finance architecture and financial reporting platform and determine how to extract maximum value in execution of the financial closeAble to operate successfully and thrive in a dynamic transformational environment where change is embraced and viewed as an opportunity for ones own professional development and to drive process improvement for the team and broader organizationStrong technical skills in Microsoft Excel Access Power Point and WordReady to take your career to the next level We would love to hear from you.#AIG-LIAt AIG we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
