Senior Quantity SurveyorNewquay, CornwallWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a national contractor, managing a range of projects across Cornwall. Sectors include health, education, defence and vary in value up to £50m. You will join an experienced team and take financial charge of projects, mentoring and managing junior commercial team members.The role: * Vet, appoint and negotiate subcontract packages for projects * Pre-contract pricing and agreement project costs, submission of cash flow forecasts * Prepare and agree CVR’S / interim valuations and agree final accounts * Managing financial accounts and report to Senior Management on the project performance * Monitor progress, secure payments, if necessary, issues formal notices / contractual claims * Attend project support meetingsRequirements: * Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, although other equivalent qualifications may be accepted such as HNC/HND if backed up with extensive work experience. * Experience of procuring major works sub-contractor packages * Good knowledge of measurement and valuations and standard forms of contract. * Ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors * Experience of value engineering * Exposure to resolving disputes * Good negotiation skills and commercial awareness. * IT skills specifically of MS365 and COINS ideally, not essential.Package: * Car Allowance * Private medical insurance * Excellent holiday allowance * Flexible benefits schemeNext steps…For an informal discussion please call Jo or apply as instructed.Sphere Solutions are one of the Southwest & Wales market leaders in providing recruitment services to the built environment.
