We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer with a strong background in backend and cloud-based development, who has also taken on technical leadership responsibilities. This role involves leading the design and development of scalable systems, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high standards of architecture and code quality across projects.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications with a focus on backend systemsLead technical projects from requirements gathering through to delivery and supportDefine and enforce best practices for architecture, coding, and deploymentCollaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable featuresMentor team members, providing both technical guidance and personal development supportContribute to the company’s data strategy and build infrastructure to support analytics workflowsEnsure system performance, reliability, and security across servicesCore Technologies:Languages: Node.js, PythonDatabases: PostgreSQL, DynamoDBCloud: AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Infrastructure as Code)Practices: Microservices, TDD, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, system integration patternsRequirements:Significant hands-on experience with Node.js and Python in production systemsStrong background in database design and development (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)Proven experience building and deploying applications on AWSTrack record of technical leadership: leading projects, mentoring engineers, setting standardsFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code and modern DevOps practicesAbility to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experienceInterest in financial services or experience in B2B software is advantageous
