Solo Coffee Brand Manager & Ambassador


Location: London (Hybrid)


Job Summary:

We are seeking someone passionate to join our team in an exciting dual role as Brand Manager and Brand Ambassador for Solo Coffee (UK). This unique position requires a creative, proactive worker with excellent communication skills who can drive Solo Coffee’s growth via both strategic planning and seamless implementation.


The role will be fluid but likely 50/50 between brand management and brand ambassador responsibilities.

This is a prime opportunity for someone looking to expand their marketing experience into new areas (new category, channels or marketing mix).

Solo are hugely passionate about coffee itself, they feel their true love for coffee is found in its use and its effect. Coffee makes us focussed, dynamic and energetic. Characteristics that enable productivity and creativity. Modern coffee companies are notoriously non-inclusive. Lots of jargon. Lots of snobbery. Lots of facial hair. As a modern coffee company, Solo feel that it is their right to avoid talking varietals, altitudes and terroir. They don’t feel the need to celebrate just the coffee, they want to also celebrate what it allows us to do.

Having grown 300% in the last 3 years with Proof Drinks, achieving market leader position in multiple channels & securing national distribution, we are now scaling up marketing initiatives with a priority on e-commerce, on-trade & food service.


Key Responsibilities:


As a Brand Manager:

- Brand Strategy Development: Working with both Solo and Proof Drinks (UK distributor) teams to develop the annual brand plan and execute brand strategies to increase market share and brand awareness.

- Marketing Campaigns & Partnerships: Working with the trade marketing team to plan, manage and oversee marketing campaigns & partnerships in trade across various channels, ensuring alignment with brand identity and goals.

- Market Research: Identify new opportunities for brand growth through active monitoring of the market and understanding of customers and usage occasions.

- Brand Messaging: Develop and refine brand messaging in trade to ensure consistency across all marketing touchpoints. Work with the team to create the right assets.

- Budget Management: Manage the brand marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.

- Agency Management: Responsibility for managing digital agency to plan and execute Amazon advertising strategies for Solo Coffee including reporting back to brand owners.

- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyse brand performance, using data to finesse strategies in order to achieve objectives. Monthly and quarterly reporting to brand owners.


As a Brand Ambassador:

- Community Engagement: Act as the face of Solo Coffee, engaging with customers and partners to promote the brand within the trade.

- Sales support & lead generation: Working with the Proof Drinks sales team to drive leads, convert opportunities and support new listings

- Education: Spend time in the trade to educate operators on the opportunity Solo resolves and the product quality credentials. Support existing stockists.

- Social Media Presence: Maintain an active and positive presence on social media, sharing content that reflects Solo Coffee’s values and engages with followers that promotes the brand and product to a trade audience.

- Event Participation: Represent Solo Coffee at industry events, trade shows, and other promotional activities to build brand awareness and loyalty.

- Content Creation: Work with the marketing team & content agency to identify opportunities to support key accounts via digital programmes.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (preferable)

- 3-5 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or a related role.

- Strong understanding of branding principles and marketing strategies.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns.

- Proactive do-er with demonstrable examples

- Passionate about coffee and the Solo Coffee brand.

- Based in London. Ability to travel nationally as needed for events and promotions.
