We work with some of the worlds major energy maritime and industrial organizations helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization including through our specialist motors drives and control technologies.At Rotating Machines Rugby (RMR) we design and build some of the most technically advanced electrical rotating machinery in the world. We specialise in manufacturing large electrical rotating machinery: Motors and Generators across a wide variety of industrial applications. Our motors are powering some of the most advance warships in the world whilst our generators are decarbonising industry for a more sustainable future. The Manufacturing Readiness & Technologies Team is a part of the RMR Engineering Department and consists of a team of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for development and implementation of new innovative manufacturing technologies.Job Description:The Production Operative will be involved in mechanical fitting preparing and building machines for test then dispatch. Main duties include:Frame preparation - fitting instrumentation auxiliary boxs and auxiliary wiringSub assembly - assembling mains and neutral terminal boxesBearing assemblyPipe fittingMachine alignmentOverhead crane driving (training provided)Maintaining a clean and tidy work area in line with 5S standardsAdherence to EHS and ensuring a safe working environmentKey skills/abilities:Previous experience of mechanical and electrical fittingAbility to work to drawings and schematics with complete accuracy understanding geometric tolerances and key symbolsMeasuring various components to tight tolerances with micrometers verniers bore mics DTI gaugesAbility to work within a team use own initiative to meet production targets and deadlinesAvailable to work shifts specifically late shift and flexible to support overtime as requiredAbility to work to instructions and quality standards completing quality documentationA can-do forward thinking approach to tasksPrevious experience of rotating machinery would be advantageousBenefits:Attractive hourly rateChallenging and exciting projects26 days holiday National Holidays.
