By joining us youll play a key part in protecting consumers driving economic growth and shaping the future of UK finance services.Enforcement & Market Oversight (EMO) is responsible for the FCAs responsibilities for market monitoring delivery of the functions of the UK Listing Authority (UKLA) and the investigation and prosecution of misconduct using the whole spectrum of criminal civil and administrative sanctions and remedies against firms and individuals.The Proceeds of Crime Team made up of Financial Intelligence Officers Accredited Financial Investigators and professional business support provides a dedicated specialist team with the expertise to help the FCA meet its proceeds of crime investigative responsibilities. This forms part of our credible deterrence agenda around prosecution of criminal offences linked to our statutory objectives and remit within the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000 and Financial Services Act 2012.Role responsibilitiesSupporting the effective delivery of the different investigations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 as well as wider projects.Gather intelligence and build strong cases by submitting statutory information requests conducting open-source research and process banking data using Altia and ExcelPerform financial research and analysis in collaboration with Accredited Financial Investigators ensuring investigations are supported by robust analysis and clear documentationSupport search and seizure operations and handle related administrative tasksMaintain accurate case files and records by scheduling archiving and preparing documents for disclosure ensuringAttend court hearings and trials taking precise notes when requiredCollaborate closely with case teams business support and enforcement servicesContribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and identify opportunities for improvementSkills requiredMinimum:Prior experience of working within a regulatory or criminal investigation environment or working in an intelligence function in those environmentsProven experience in Microsoft Office applications particularly Word and ExcelEssential:Excellent judgement and good written and oral communication skills with the ability to analyse present and explain issues in a comprehensive and concise mannerExperience of performing basic research and organising information in a comprehensive mannerExperience of working on own initiative including prioritising foreseeing issues and working under pressure to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracyAbility to quickly analyse and understand the detail purpose and context of our document management proceduresFlexibility and willing to take on new tasks and responsibilities adapting to change and supporting colleaguesDynamic and forward thinking with excellent initiative to diagnose problems and propose solutionsYou must be willing to be trained as a Financial Intelligence Officer committing to the independent study and timely and successful completion of all relevant exams and training courses necessary to successfully qualify.Benefits25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysHybrid model with up to 60% remote workNon-contributory pension (812% depending on age) and life assurance at eight times your salaryPrivate healthcare with Bupa income protection and 24/7 Employee Assistance35 hours of paid volunteering annuallyA flexible benefits scheme designed around your lifestyleFor a full list of our benefits and our recruitment process as a whole visit our benefits page.Our values and cultureOur colleagues are the key to our success as a regulator.
