Our client, a renowned technology company, is seeking a motivated and skilled Front-End Developer to join their dynamic team. This company operates in the fast-paced world of sports, delivering market-leading web, app, and streaming platforms for top sports teams and federations across the UK and beyond. As part of this innovative team, you will contribute to their flagship PAAS (platform as a service) offering, which serves over 50 global sporting brands, including Liverpool FC, Everton FC, the EFL, and Celtic FC.


As a Front-End Developer, you will create engaging, user-centric web applications and CMS products using JavaScript-led technologies such as Vue and Nuxt, along with services like Tailwind and SCSS. You will work on scalable and highly available solutions, collaborating with a focused, talented team to shape and evolve how clients promote their brand and services to a global audience.


This is an opportunity to work on an industry-leading product, take on various projects, and develop your skills further. You will work directly with the Head of Frontend and be part of an agile squad of multi-discipline developers and designers.

The position follows a hybrid model, with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote working.


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver products, features, and improvements to both new and existing front-end solutions.
  • Contribute to the core PAAS product.
  • Develop and maintain scalable web applications.
  • Collaborate with the team to solve problems and create innovative solutions.
  • Ensure code quality, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Integrate Restful APIs into client-side applications.
  • Work with version control systems, particularly Git, in a collaborative team environment.


Requirements:


  • 4-6 years of experience in a front-end capacity, ideally in a SAAS or PAAS environment.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript-led development languages, alongside CSS and HTML basics.
  • Experience in developing and delivering solutions for a B2B ecosystem, including CMS solutions and back-office applications.
  • Experience with relational databases and non-relational databases, including DynamoDB and RDS.
  • Strong understanding of Restful APIs and experience integrating them into client-side applications.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Experience in building scalable web applications from scratch and enhancing existing PAAS offerings.
  • Passionate about development and creating user-friendly applications.
  • Experience working with third-party libraries and SDKs.
  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript technologies, primarily Nuxt, Vue, and TypeScript.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in a project delivery team.
  • Proficient in coming up with innovative solutions and problem-solving.


Desirable Experience and Skills:


  • Knowledge and interest in product development and continuous evolution methods.
  • VueJS and Nuxt experience, alongside Tailwind CSS.
  • Experience with Agile and SCRUM methodologies, including stand-ups, retrospectives, and refinement.
  • Understanding of the cultural issues surrounding sports and the sports digital landscape.
  • Experience delivering and testing content websites, data-driven web publishing, video streaming, mobile products, and content management systems.
  • Curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders of all sizes, both internal and external.
