As Head of Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for leading and managing the QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of our products/services. You will oversee the development and implementation of QA processes, strategies, and standards to meet the organisations quality objectives and customer satisfaction goals.


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership and strategy:

  • strategic leadership and direction for the aviation quality assurance function, aligning goals with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other relevant regulations.
  • quality performance metrics, targets, and KPIs to monitor and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Quality Assurance Strategy

  • implement, and maintain robust aviation-specific quality management system in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • effective documentation control, recordkeeping, and configuration management processes to maintain the integrity of quality records and compliance documentation.


Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

  • updated on changes to all relevant aviation regulations, standards, and directives, and ensure timely implementation of required updates to quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, overseeing audits, inspections, and enquiries, and ensuring timely responses and corrective actions as needed.
  • implement, and manage the regulated Safety Management System.


Team Management and Development:

  • and develop a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • roles and responsibilities, establish clear performance expectations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support the professional growth and development of team members.


Auditing and Compliance Monitoring:

  • coordinate, and conduct internal audits, inspections, and compliance assessments to verify adherence to quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • external audits by regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and customers, ensuring timely preparation, thorough responses, and effective corrective action implementation.


Continuous Improvement and Risk Management:

  • quality performance data, audit findings, and trend analysis to identify areas for improvement, root causes of issues, and opportunities for risk mitigation.
  • or support quality improvement projects, initiatives, and risk management activities to enhance aviation safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.


Stakeholder Communication:

  • QA strategies, progress, and outcomes to senior management, teams, and stakeholders.
  • with management to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the development lifecycle.
  • regular updates, reports, and presentations on QA performance, trends, and challenges.


What you will need:

Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices including Part 145 Safety Management Systems.

Extensive experience in quality assurance, quality management, or regulatory compliance leadership roles.

In-depth knowledge of UK aviation regulations (CAA/EASA) and international aviation standards.

Proven track record of developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.

Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
