PAYROLL MANAGER

UP TO £55,000 PA – DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

WEST LONDON

PERMANENT FULL TIME HYBRID ROLE

I am currently working with an amazing company in the hospitality industry to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team. The role is critical in the finance function and previous experience of working in hospitality (multi-site) and a tronc scheme would be highly advantageous, as the successful candidate will manage this day to day. Ideally the role will assist the management accounts team as well, but the key focus will be on the payroll and tronc processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll
    • Run monthly head office salaries for 150 employees.
    • Run the payroll for our hourly paid site staff (c1,300 employees) which is completed on a 4-4-5 weekly basis.
    • Manage all relevant HMRC and pension submissions.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
    • Prepare quarterly calculations to check we are compliant with national living wage.
  • Tronc
    • Administer the tronc in line with the scheme guidance on a weekly basis.
    • Liaise with sites on any questions raised.
    • Keep up to date with any changes in the legislation.
    • Liaise with our tronc advisors and action any points from the quarterly audits.
  • Other ad hoc tasks:
    • Assist with the month-end close process, including checking of employee expenses and reconciliation of employee credit cards.
    • Provide ad hoc analysis, as required.
    • Work closely with the senior payroll manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experienced payroll manager with a minimum of 300 employees
  • Ideally previous experience in the hospitality industry
  • Exposure and understanding of a tronc system.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across functions.
  • Experience of managing multiple priorities and delivering to a deadline

  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, quantitative and investigative skills.
