Job DescriptionHeres your chance to join a growing engineering team where your ideas genuinely matter. This role would suit someone who enjoys solving technical challenges creating well-engineered products and seeing designs come to life on the shop floor. Youll play a key part in developing bespoke equipment and systems that are built to a high standard and tailored to customer needs.If youre looking for variety ownership and the satisfaction of taking a design from concept through to manufacture this could be a great fit.What Youll Be DoingCreating 3D models of components and assemblies using InventorProducing clear accurate 2D drawings for laser cutting welding and assemblyPreparing AutoCAD LT layoutsWriting product manuals and technical documentationPerforming engineering calculations and finite element analysisEnsuring all designs meet relevant ISO and Health & Safety standardsBuilding product structures and BoMs in Sage X3Supporting the development of new products through research testing and validationWorking closely with production purchasing service and sales to ensure designs are practical cost-effective and ready for manufactureVisiting customer sites when required to support real-world applicationsYour First 12 MonthsYoull start by getting hands-on with the product range and shaping designs for the companys core equipment. Over your first year youll gradually move into larger more complex projectseventually playing a key role in creating completely new products that align with future sales strategies.Who Were Looking ForYoull be a practical problem-solver with an eye for detail and a passion for turning ideas into engineered solutions. The ideal person will have:EssentialExperience designing machinery sheet-metal parts and/or machined componentsStrong 3D modelling skills (Inventor or similar)2D drafting experience (AutoCAD)Confident engineering calculation abilityGood communication skills and the ability to build strong internal relationshipsStrong organisational skills and great attention to detailA proactive mindset and the ability to work independentlyGood Microsoft Office skillsFlexibility and a positive can-do approachDesirablePrevious experience in a similar manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of risk analysis and machinery directivesFull UK driving licenceYoull be joining a team where engineering is at the heart of the business. The products you design will directly support production sales customer satisfaction and the companys long-term success. Your contribution genuinely makes a difference.Additional InformationOccasional customer-site visits may be required. Priorities can shift quickly so youll need to be adaptable and comfortable managing changing schedules.
