Role: Production Design Engineer Type: Permanent Pay: £40,000 - £45,000 per annumHours: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00 Location: Walsall Are you a Production Design Engineer with an electrical bias, looking for your next challenge?We’re working with a leading design and manufacturing business and due to growth and upcoming high-value projects, they’re looking to add a Production Design Engineer to their expanding Engineering Design team.Production Design Engineer Job DescriptionLead product and electrical design projects, applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to deliver efficient, high-quality, and compliant engineering solutions.Drive new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production, ensuring right-first-time delivery and smooth handover to manufacturing.Produce and maintain CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to reduce cost, boost productivity, and enhance process performance through Lean, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.Maintain exceptional quality and safety standards, supporting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and promoting a proactive safety culture.Production Design Engineer Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications3+ years of experience in this role or a similar roleStrong electrical design bias.Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar).Experience applying DFM principles in a manufacturing environment.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Production Design Engineer Benefits5% matched pensionCritical illness insuranceDeath in service (1x annual salary)20 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday offCareer development and progression opportunitiesIf you feel you’re a good fit for this position, please click ‘apply’
