Our client is seeking to fill a key role within their newly established Red Team Business Unit. As the Director of Red Team Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping, implementing and managing the Red Team services from the ground up. Clients from various industries have seen measurable improvements in their security posture through the delivery of Cyber Security services, which are driven by a collaborative approach involving customers, partners and cybersecurity experts. Together, they challenge conventional practices, drive innovation and lead the effort in safeguarding the internet against cyber threats.


As the Director of Red Team Operations, your responsibilities will include:


Service Design and Development:

  • Lead the creation and design of the Red Team service offerings.
  • Develop methodologies, frameworks, and processes to ensure a high quality of service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align Red Team services with broader business goals.


Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of Red Team services.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient execution of Red Team engagements.
  • Maintain a scalable and robust operational infrastructure to meet growing service demands.


Engagement Leadership:

  • Confidently lead complex engagements from start to finish.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver detailed engagement reports.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction are delivered by each engagement.


Technical Expertise:

  • Leverage advanced knowledge of Red Team tools and techniques, including Cobalt Strike, OST-Outflank, and RedELK.
  • Apply threat intelligence and attack path mapping to enhance engagement results.


Team Leadership and Management:

  • Recruit, lead, and manage a team of internal Red Team leaders and a tactical team of crowdsourced specialists.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.


Customer Interaction:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for Red Team services.
  • Communicate effectively with clients at all levels, from technical teams to executive leadership, including technical debriefs and Board-level presentations when required.


Innovation and Strategy:

  • Drive innovation within the Red Team business unit, continually seeking ways to enhance and differentiate the service offering.
  • Identify and implement new tools, techniques, and processes to improve service delivery.
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for Red Team services to align with the company’s business strategy.


To be considered for the position, you must have:


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in advanced penetration testing techniques.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Red Team operations.
  • Proven experience in building internal Red Team programs or service offerings within a consulting firm.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Red Team tools such as Cobalt Strike, OST-Outflank, RedELK.
  • Deep understanding of threat intelligence and attack path mapping.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems, network protocols, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools to enhance Red Team operations.
  • Proficient in the Social Engineering phases of full-spectrum Red Teaming.


Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a history of leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on mentoring and developing team members.


Communication Skills:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in creating and delivering presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Certifications :

  • CREST Certified Simulated Attack Specialist
  • CREST Certified Simulated Attack Manager
  • Advanced Red Team Techniques
