About the Role:

Seeking an experienced AVS Migration Engineer to join our Clients team on a remote basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering large-scale data centre migrations and cloud infrastructure services. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to significant projects in the public cloud space.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute large-scale VMware data centre migrations to public cloud environments, specifically Azure AVS.
  • Administer and utilize VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN), VMware NSX for network virtualization, and VMware vRealize including vRealize Automation.
  • Capture on-prem VMware configurations and capacity requirements, and design cloud-based VMware target environments, including performance and capacity planning.
  • Provision Cloud-based VMware environments, ideally using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Apply VMware best practices in deployment, monitoring, security, maintenance, and implement VMware Backup and DR systems.
  • Travel to customer sites may be required during the initial phases of projects for workshops or specific requirements, but generally limited to a few weeks.


Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of VMware experience, with hands-on expertise in migrating VMware solutions to public cloud environments, specifically Azure AVS.
  • Proficient in administering VMware vSphere platforms, VMware NSX, and VMware vRealize technologies.
  • Solid understanding of VMware HCX and other migration tools.
  • Experience with capturing configurations, planning, and provisioning for cloud-based environments.
  • Ability to apply VMware best practices across various deployment stages.
