Youll bring proven expertise in management information (MI) discovery work and data analytics projects using insight to enable better decision-making at all levels.We value people who are self-motivated proactive and thrive in complexity someone who doesnt wait to be told what to do who can adapt to ambiguity and whos comfortable being uncomfortable when tackling novel or challenging problems.This is a primarily remote role with occasional travel to client sites and our offices in London Sheffield or Bristol. Security Clearance will be required (details provided during interview).Key Responsibilities Lead Collaboration Act as the translator between stakeholders and delivery teams co-creating clear requirements and managing blockers with empathy and pragmatism. Strategic Stakeholder Engagement Influence senior defence stakeholders build trusted relationships and ensure business needs are aligned with operational and strategic outcomes. Discovery & Problem Shaping Lead discovery activities scoping opportunities clarifying problem spaces and shaping solutions that deliver maximum value. Process & Service Improvement Map and analyse as-is processes design to-be processes and apply service and product thinking to create user-centred value-driven solutions. Data Source Analysis & Insight Analyse diverse data sources to define metrics design meaningful MI and create visualisations that enable decision-making. Data-Driven Recommendations Lead MI and analytics projects using modelling and analysis to assess risks opportunities benefits and costs. Clear Communication Craft visual models user stories acceptance criteria and concise documentation that bring clarity to complexity. Enable Delivery Support implementation troubleshoot issues and ensure successful adoption of change. Community & Leadership Mentor colleagues share best practices and actively contribute to shaping our BA Community of Practice and defined career pathway. Ethics & Governance Champion responsible use of data ensuring compliance with governance and ethical principles especially within sensitive defence environments. Organised Project Management- Manage project deliverables effectively ensuring scope time and quality are met. Assertive People Management & Leadership- Manage small teams of direct reports.- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior analysts.RequirementsIdeal Candidate Profile Proven experience delivering management information (MI) data analytics and discovery projects. Skilled in analysing data sources to define metrics and design dashboards/visualisations (Power BI Tableau). Highly self-motivated and proactive driving outcomes without waiting for instruction. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to operate effectively when challenges are unclear or complex. Confident engaging and influencing stakeholders from C-suite to delivery squads. Skilled in eliciting and refining business requirements (workshops interviews workflow mapping). Experienced in Agile ways of working and tools (Jira Azure DevOps Trello). Proficient in developing Epics Use Cases and User Stories with scenario-based acceptance criteria. Knowledge of relational data modelling ETL and cloud platforms (Azure AWS). Awareness of Data Science AI and big data principles. Desirable Skills and experience Experience in Defence or Supply Chain sectors IIBA or BCS professional certification. Awareness of data governance (DAMA) and/or data architecture principles Understanding of user-centred design and service design principles. Exposure to AI-enabled analysis tools or low/no-code prototyping.
