Year 5 Teacher – New Barnet, North London Position: Year 5 Class Teacher Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (January – July 2025) Potential: May lead to permanent role Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London) Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher ready to inspire a classroom of young learners? We’re looking for a dynamic Year 5 Class Teacher to join our vibrant primary school community in New Barnet from January 2025. This role is long-term, running through to July, with the potential to evolve into a permanent position for the right candidate. What the Role Involves As our Year 5 Class Teacher, you will: Lead a lively Year 5 class, setting high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement. Plan and deliver stimulating lessons aligned with the National Curriculum. Track and assess pupil progress, ensuring all learners are challenged and supported. Create a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes both academic and personal growth. Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practice across the school. Maintain strong communication with parents and carers, supporting each child’s learning journey. Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Key Stage 2 (Year 5 or 6 experience preferred). Demonstrate excellent classroom practice and a thorough understanding of the primary curriculum. Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional growth.
