Salary: GBP100 - GBP110 per day (depending on experience and/or qualifications)

Join our Trainee Classroom Cover Teacher Programme and kick-start your journey in education Whether you're a recent graduate, considering a career change, or thinking about training to become a teacher, this role is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in secondary schools across Darlington.

About the Role

As a Trainee Classroom Cover Teacher, you'll step confidently into the classroom and lead lessons for up to 30 students in the absence of their usual teacher. Don't worry—you don't need to be a subject specialist Lesson plans are always provided in advance.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and facilitating the learning of pre-planned lessons.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe, positive learning environment.
  • Taking accurate attendance registers.
  • Providing a handover for the class teacher.

This role is ideal for those looking to gain hands-on experience in schools before applying for Initial Teacher Training (ITT).
