OverviewMedical Records Officer (Bank)Southend Private HospitalBank ShiftsSalary: Up to £12.52 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)Southend Private Hospital has recently been awarded OUTSTANDING by the CQC.Southend Private Hospital is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.We have an opportunity for a Medical Records Officer to join their team of staff in the Medical Records department.This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.Duties Of This Role IncludePrepare patient records for upcoming clinics, admissions, investigations, and procedures.Ensure all required documentation (e.g., consent forms, test results, referral letters) is accurately filed and accessible for clinical teams.Locate and retrieve patient notes efficiently when requested by clinical, admin, or legal teams.Handle patient information with the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.Comply with GDPR, Caldicott principles, and local information governance policies.Use electronic systems (e.g., hospital PAS, EMR, or EPR platforms) to log, update, and search patient data accurately.Applicants Should Meet The Following CriteriaPrevious administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare or records-focused role.Good understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and information governance.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Good organisational skills and ability to manage time and priorities effectively.Comfortable working with IT systems and databases.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and respectful manner.Salary & BenefitsCircle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate.“Our culture is a result of the way our people live and breathe our philosophy, which combines our purpose, principles and values.To find out more about the Circle Health Group Philosophy: https://careers.circlehealthgroup.co.uk/why-circle/our-philosophy”
