Quick Staff UK is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing organisation based in the Newport area of south Wales. On their behalf, we are looking for a Electrical Technician to join their team to maintain and improve the electrical systems and production equipment on and around their site.

The main function of the role of Electrical Technician is to support in the resolution of break downs, completion of maintenance and installation and / or removal of new or existing equipment, from a production equipment perspective. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team of Technicians for a forward-thinking and established manufacturing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planned preventative maintenance and servicing of machines & equipment.
  • Improvement of plant & equipment.
  • Safety checks & inspections.
  • Resolution / repair of breakdowns, quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime.
  • Resolution / repair to electrical supply equipment.
  • Working safely at all times, in line with company procedures.
  • Safeguarding company resources.
  • Working with external contractors.
  • Assist with procuring engineering stock.
  • Keeping maintenance records up to date.
  • Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, working to a shift pattern.

Key Requirements:

  • Time served apprenticeship (electrical).
  • Electrical experience with control circuits in an industrial environment.
  • Problem solver.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong decision maker.
  • Be able to read electrical diagrams.
  • PLC experience is an advantage
  • Experience with injection moulding is an advantage
  • Experience in Pneumatics and Hydraulics is an advantage

Working hours:

37.5hrs per weekDays/Afternoons(You will only be required to work one Afternoon shift every 3 weeks)You will also benefit from an early finish on Fridays.
