As a Supplier Relationship Officer, you will be responsible for managing the day to day transactional suppliers across the Business as usual supply chain.

You will act as a central point of expertise within the Business for supplier relationship management, understanding stakeholder requirements, and supporting the operational procurement of goods for the business.

You are expected to work closely with other roles in the department, as well as a number of other departments across the Business, and act as point of contact for internal stakeholders.

You will facilitate supplier reviews, ensuring the Business is receiving the best available service and Value for Money (VFM), whilst also building and developing our engagement and visibility with our internal customers and stakeholders.

You will initiate benchmarking activity, challenging existing suppliers, proposing and facilitating tender activity if and when required.

As part of this role, you will work closely with management to develop processes which support the ongoing monitoring of transactional suppliers for our indirect spend categories, and support the procurement function with its deliverables across the Business.

Main Responsibilities:

• Driving communication across the team and inter department, liaising with teams to understand future recurring requirements to support volume buying where appropriate.

• Reviewing and renegotiating existing catalogue prices on a quarterly basis, ensuring current agreements and pricing strategies are communicated across the department.

• Reviewing Transactional and Operational Preferred Supplier List and determining where improvements can be made, setting performance indicators and measurable KPI’s in a mutually agreed terms of service; whilst acting as point of escalation for any recurring service issues with suppliers and internal customers.

• Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate methods are in place to capture supplier performance to allow for monitoring and reporting on supplier performance against KPI’s.

• Ensuring all supplier performance issues are logged and escalated via the appropriate channels and gather information in relation to supplier issues in preparation for review, including feedback about supplier issues relating to demand, quality, quantity, cost, delivery.

• Reviewing and creating appropriate analytics and reporting to ensure we get the optimal view of spend, cost savings and performance.

• Managing the relationship for transactional and operational suppliers in new territories once they’re fully onboarded. • Initiating regular benchmarking activity and sourcing alternatives, whilst developing product and service knowledge across multiple categories.

• Identifying process improvements, whilst demonstrating confidence to initiate and define elements of the role as it naturally develops.

• Providing assistance and resource to other members of the team as required when needed.

• Participating in and supporting procurement transformation throughout the Company.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience of building effective working relationships across all levels of the business and the ability to work with people across all functions and levels of an organisation. A firm understanding of procurement principles, legislation and regulations

• Experience working in a procurement function with demonstrable experience in supplier management, negotiations and commercials, benchmarking and negotiating tenders for VFM and experience in reviewing suppliers against established KPI’s, and SLA’s.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft office tools

• CIPs qualified at level 3 or the equivalent in work place experience.

• Experience in developing reports and analysing data. • Ability to work under own supervision, whilst being a team player.

• Highly efficient in meeting deadlines and managing job prioritization and pro active approach to workloads and changing environments with a very high level of attention to detail.

• Strong process, planning and delivery skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
