Job Title:Project Manager (Civil)Salary:£55,000 to £75,000Location:Burham (Hybrid working available)Type:Permanent, hybridAbout the Role:Our client is looking for a Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary water-sector projects from design through to commissioning. You’ll report to the Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager and be responsible for delivering contracts efficiently, safely, and to specification, ensuring client satisfaction and commercial success.About the Client:Our client is a major UK integrated design-and-build provider in the water sector, delivering projects through long-term frameworks and joint ventures. They prioritise professional development, diversity, and a culture where people matter.Key Responsibilities:Promote high safety and quality standards for direct and subcontracted teamsImplement the BMS from tender handover to project completionMaintain strong client, supplier, and JV relationshipsEnsure sufficient trained personnel are available and aware of responsibilitiesPlan projects, approve Project Execution Plans, and monitor deliveryPrepare and approve construction plans and method statements before work commencesComplete and maintain project records at contract completionReport site non-conformities and estimate associated costsManage commercial aspects proactively with accurate forecastsApply project management practices from scheme conception to handoverMaintain continuous professional development and industry awarenessRepresent the business professionally and uphold confidentialityUnderstand and implement quality, safety, and environmental policiesEnsure customer requirements are met to enhance satisfactionMaintain knowledge of technical disciplines related to water and wastewater design and build projectsWhat Our Client is Looking For:Essential:Project management experience managing multi-disciplinary design & construction projects, ideally in the water sectorDegree or equivalent in construction, engineering, or commercial disciplineProject Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalentStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsDelivery-driven with ability to manage teams to time, cost, and quality targetsKnowledge of Construction Contracts (NEC/IChemE) and ability to negotiate/administerRisk & Opportunity management experienceWorking knowledge of CDM and construction Health & SafetyDesirable:Experience in water and wastewater treatment projectsChartered with an engineering, commercial, or construction institutionNEC Project Manager AccreditationTechnical Competencies (Advanced):Contract management, governance, budgeting, risk/opportunity management, project planning, digital delivery, procurement, design development, client/stakeholder/conflict management, resource management, change management, quality managementBehavioural Competencies (Advanced):Communication, collaboration, client focus, results-driven, integrity, coaching, leadershipWhat Our Client Offers:Competitive salaryHybrid working (role-dependent)Car or car allowance (role-dependent)25 days holiday + bank holidays (option to buy 5 extra)Pension schemeLife assuranceHealth insurance & private medical insuranceAdditional perks: cycle-to-work scheme, discounts hub, Kids Pass, and moreEligibility:You must have the legal right to work in the UK.Opportunity for Growth:This role provides clear career progression in a major UK infrastructure provider with exposure to multi-disciplinary water-sector projects, professional development, and leadership opportunities.
