Team Manager- Nutritional Instrumentation

Campden BRI offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits. You would be supporting the day-to-day operations of the Nutritional Instrumentation’s Team- focused on high-volume commercial food & drink chemistry testing.


The co-ordinator role forms the first layer of management in Campden BRI ensuring that the departmental goals are realised through effective scheduling and resourcing of daily work tasks.

This will involve:

  • Maximising staff motivation and ensuring the availability and efficient utilisation of resources/facilities.
  • Maintaining excellent service performance through allocation of daily tasks
  • Driving operational efficiency and safe working compliance with business systems


Position

  • Compiling, allocating, monitoring, and daily work tasks.
  • Proactive resolution of emerging issues and communication with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Leadership and management of staff including recruitment, development, motivation, and efficient utilisation.
  • Authorising test batch results and reporting of certificates.
  • Reviewing and ensuring materials are fit for purpose as per the requirements of the QMS.
  • Safety toolbox talks and daily work huddles.
  • Allocating training of area members.
  • Conduct analysis, processing and loading of instrumentation (as required).
  • Any other relevant tasks as directed by their Line Manager.


Requirements

  • Degree and significant experience in the field of analytical science.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable methods in the department.
  • Thorough understanding and experience in the instrumentation used.
  • Ability to develop as a signatory for methods in the department.
  • Competence in team leadership and management of staff and resource utilisation.
  • Prior experience in effective workload management and resourcing.
  • Understanding of ISO17025 requirement.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.

Working hours- Monday-Friday 8.45am-5.15pm (4.30pm finish on Fridays).
