Laboratory Operations Manager (Food Chemistry Testing)nCampden BRI offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits.

You would be supporting the day-to-day operations of a high volume commercial food & drink testing laboratory

Adherence to and improvement of the Quality Management System and Health & Safety policiesnMaintain excellent service levels for clients/membersnSupport the Team Managers in efficient resource allocationnManage the equipment and assets of the departmentnManage costs and support the department in meeting financial metrics

Laboratory Operations Manager rolenCo-ordinating Team Managers and overseeing daily laboratory operations.nImproving existing workflows and support in the LIMS upgrade.nLeading, developing and supporting Team Managers.nLeading and championing quality and health & safety.nReviewing and improving operational efficiency and best practice.nReviewing, highlighting, and supporting business case development on laboratory investment needs.

Laboratory Operations Manager experience requirednExperience of leading laboratory operations in a large volume commercial laboratory including experience in managing team supervisors.nWide experience of leading people, creating clarity, coaching, and driving performance standards.nUnderstanding of the analytical and quality requirements for the analysis of contaminants and nutritional components.nDemonstrable experience in the application of Continuous Improvement Principles to deliver operational improvements.nDemonstrable experience in change management.nProven competence in managing timely and cost-effective delivery of technical services.nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.nKnowledge of the needs of the food and related industries would be desirable.nExperienced in the implementation of quality/business management systems and the requirements of the ISO 17025 standard.nScience-related degree (Chemistry degree would be an advantage).
