Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Leading, developing and implementing the digital trading strategy in alignment with the overall business objectives.
Identify market opportunities and trends to drive revenue growth.
Set and manage budgets, sales forecasts, and performance targets.
Sales and Performance Optimization:
Oversee daily trading activities, ensuring optimal product availability and pricing.
Monitor and analyze sales performance, traffic, conversion rates, and other KPIs.
Implement strategies to maximize online sales and profitability, including promotional planning and execution.
Develop & Define the digital marketing strategy and execution across key paid and owned channels including Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, Affiliates, Email/ CRM, Display.
Responsible for setting and allocating marketing budget and building forecasts, ensuring alignment with key financial targets, managing this through an external marketing agency.
Set clear objectives and KPIs for the digital marketing agency that align the overarching business strategy and that facilitate the short- and long-term goals of the business.
Take a strong analytical approach to create a culture of large-scale test and learn in order to create and maintain a best in class approach across all digital channels
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop the digital trading and creative teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, IT, logistics, and customer service.
Ensure effective communication and coordination across departments to support business goals.
Customer Experience:
Ensure a seamless and engaging customer journey across all digital touchpoints.
Work with UX/UI teams to enhance site usability and customer satisfaction.
Drive personalization and targeted marketing efforts to improve customer retention and lifetime value.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Regularly report on trading performance, providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape and market dynamics.
Data modelling and forecasting
Technology and Innovation:
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and digital trends in the retail sector.
Drive the adoption of new tools and technologies to improve trading performance and operational efficiency.
Work with the IT team to ensure the reliability and scalability of the digital trading platform.
Skills Required:
Degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce, or a related field
Must have relevant experience in an ecommerce trading, digital marketing or online retail role, including experience as a head of department
Proven track record of driving online sales growth and achieving commercial targets
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
Excellent leadership and team management capabilities
Proficient in e-commerce platforms, digital analytics tools, and trading systems
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
