We are working in partnership with secondary schools across Leeds who are recruiting reliable, skilled School Technicians to support day-to-day teaching and learning across Science, Design & Technology, and ICT departments.These roles are vital to the smooth running of practical lessons, ensuring safe, well-prepared, and well-resourced learning environments.Opportunities range from short-term supply to long-term and permanent placements, depending on school needs and your experience.Available Roles🧪 Science TechnicianPrepare and set up practical experiments for Biology, Chemistry, and PhysicsMaintain laboratories, equipment, chemicals, and materialsEnsure health & safety procedures and COSHH regulations are followedSupport teachers during practical lessons when required🛠️ Design & Technology TechnicianPrepare materials and equipment for DT lessons (wood, metal, textiles, food tech where applicable)Maintain tools, machinery, and workshop areasSupport safe use of equipment and practical demonstrationsMonitor stock levels and assist with ordering💻 IT TechnicianProvide technical support for classroom ICT equipment and school networksTroubleshoot hardware and software issuesSupport set-up and maintenance of laptops, desktops, and interactive screensAssist staff and pupils with day-to-day technical queriesKey Responsibilities (All Roles)Ensure equipment and resources are ready for lessonsMaintain safe, organised, and compliant working environmentsCarry out routine checks, maintenance, and logging of equipmentSupport teaching staff with practical and technical requirementsFollow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all timesRequirementsPrevious experience as a School Technician (Science, DT, IT, or similar technical role)Strong practical and organisational skillsAwareness of health & safety requirements relevant to the roleAbility to work independently and as part of a wider school teamReliable, flexible, and professional approachEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)What We OfferExcellent pay ratesFlexible work optionsFast-track registrationAccess to CPD and role-specific trainingDedicated consultant supportOpportunities for long-term and permanent rolesWhy These Roles MatterSchool Technicians play a crucial behind-the-scenes role in making lessons engaging, safe, and successful.
