BACKGROUND, COMPANY INFORMATION AND JOB DESCRIPTIONAssistant Cook BACKGROUNDParkwood Outdoors Dolygaer is a multi activity centre that aims to deliver fun, educational and high quality services to our customers. The company also prides itself on its exemplary health and safety record and commitment to staff.Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer facilities and services provide a diverse range of activities to suit most ages and has 3 different types of 3 and 4 star accommodation to sleep up to 80 people. There is also a classroom, a cafe and 14.5 acres of land nestled in the National Park. ORGANISATION STRUCTUREThe post holder will report directly to the Centre Manager JOB DESCRIPTIONPrimary objectives for the Assistant Cook will be:To supervise the day to day operations of the cafe and catering facilities.To ensure the highest possible standards of Health and Safety and customer care.The Assistant Cook will focus day to day on the following tasks:To supervise the day to day operation of the cafe and kitchen of the Centre.To prepare and cook meals and snacks in accordance with the requirements of the Centre.To undertake front of house cafe duties as necessary.To ensure that all food is covered, stored, labelled and dated to meet the food safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 or the terms of subsequent legislation.Make sure that food is handled, stored, prepared and served in such a way and such condition as to prevent any contamination of food and drink.To ensure that the kitchen and cafe areas are entered only by authorised persons.To ensure that all cleaning duties are completed whilst on shift.To ensure that all injuries involving staff and members of the public are reported to the Centre Manager.To record any complaints and to pass to the Centre Manager.To ensure all Health and Safety procedures are carried out at all times.Ensure that a consistently high level of service is delivered to customers.To assist in the management of the Centre's quality assurance systems and procedures.To undertake cleaning duties as required.To undertake any regulatory requirements.To be responsible and accountable for cash handling as required.Ensure that company financial regulations are adhered to in terms of cash handling.To ensure that a safe and efficient service is provided for the public.To undertake any other duties as may be required by the Centre Manager to ensure that the business objectives of the contract are achieved.THE CANDIDATEQualificationsHigh standard of personal hygieneDrivers licenceGood interpersonal skills and a friendly disposition.Demonstrate computer literacy skills.Desirable - L2 Food HygienePersonal Among the personal characteristics sought the applicant:Must be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees.Must be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation, both listen and direct.Must be able to meet the demands of the role by working additional hours when required.Must be able to maintain and, be committed to good employee relations and deliver quality training
