Attendance Officer - Full-Time PositionBand D SCP 6 - 36 Hours (Full Time) 39 weeks per yearFixed Term in the first instance to 31/08/2026 (possibility of permanent position dependent on School Budget)Grove Street Primary School is seeking a proactive and motivated Attendance Officer to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is a key role in supporting children within a safe and nurturing environment ensuring they have the very best opportunity to thrive in their learning.About the RoleAs Attendance Officer you will:Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to monitor and improve pupil attendancePlay an important part in helping every child achieve their full potentialContribute to our warm caring school communitySupport the smooth day-to-day operation of our school officeContribute to wider school priorities by carrying out reasonable duties consistent with the roleYoull be responsible for daily register monitoring First Day response calls and home visits preparing and analysing attendance data supporting vulnerable pupils handling leave of absence requests and working with the pastoral team to prepare reports.Youll also help Senior Leaders tackle attendance issues and put supportive measures inplace.What Were Looking ForWe are seeking someone who is:Experienced in attendance strategies within primary schoolsSkilled at supporting children with barriers to learningHardworking flexible and able to manage time effectivelyConfident with IT systems (training provided) and strong in literacy and numeracyExperienced using a schools MIS system; Arbor experience would be beneficial but is not essential.Warm approachable and able to build strong relationships with children families and staffA team player who connects well with the wider school communityProactive positive and calm under pressureCommitted to safeguarding and ongoing professional developmentEnthusiastic about making a real difference in the lives of families and childrenAbout Grove Street Primary School:Grove Street Primary is a Centre of Excellence for Inclusion a Therapeutic School a Centre of Excellence for Oracy (Voice 21) and a School of Sanctuary.We are fully committed to ensuring every child has a champion meeting their emotional social and academic needs with the utmost care and support.
