Following continued success and growth at Red Sky Energy, we are looking for a number of substation electricians with SSE/NG or UKPN authorisations to work as part of established teams to assist in successful delivery of transmission and distribution projects across Scotland.

Role: Substation Electrical Engineer
Rate: Negotiable
Location: various across Scotland
Sector: Power transmission and distribution.

The correct persons for this role will have the ability to:

•Install cable containment systems to a high standard safely
•Install, gland and terminate cable systems mainly used in the industrial sector to BS7671 and project drawings.
•Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices to verify compatibility and safety of the system.
•Plan, Layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on task specification and relevant standards.
•Initiative to identify and resolve electrical installation issues on site in hand with site supervision.
• Experience of Installation of grounding systems
•Have previous experience regarding Installation of switchgear equipment and Electromechanical interlocks
•Ability to proactively develop and maintain a strong safety culture as part of the team
•Good communication skills to be able to brief the team and engage with site management or wider functions.

What we need from you:

•Fully qualified electrician with relevant skills and experience in the installation of Electrical switchgear and distribution systems.
•Valid ECS grading card (health and safety assessment and 7671 training)
•Experience or working with HV systems (upto 400KV)
•Competent in BBPT&D site installation procedures
•CPCS training or similar – Telehandler/MEWP
•SSE/SPEN/NG authorisations or willing to work towards achieving these
•Confident and competent to work at height.
