PLC Improvement Engineer – BanburyLocation: Banbury, Oxfordshire (commutable from: Bicester, Brackley, Chipping Norton, Towcester, and surrounding areas)Are you a hands-on PLC Improvement Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking and innovative manufacturing environment?We are seeking a technically skilled engineer who thrives in a team, enjoys problem-solving, and has a passion for continuous improvement. This role would also suit professionals with experience as a Continuous Improvement Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Automation Engineer.If you’re looking to further develop your engineering skills and gain additional qualifications in a company that invests in its people, this could be your next move.You’ll be working Monday to Friday, day shifts with flexible hours, providing a healthy work-life balance.Salary: £65,000–£70,000 per year, plus:• Medicash health and wellbeing scheme• Christmas bonusKey Responsibilities:• Perform mechanical, electrical, and PLC maintenance in line with safety, quality, and company standards• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve faults on automated and production systems• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation projects• Maintain accurate maintenance records and CMMS data• Coordinate with engineers, production teams, and contractors to ensure timely and efficient maintenance• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standardsThe ideal candidate:• Time-served or apprenticeship-qualified multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and electrical expertise• Experience with PLCs, including Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Allen Bradley systems• Previous experience in food/FMCG or industrial manufacturing environments• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ/BTEC or equivalent)• Proactive, reliable, and a team player who takes ownership and initiativeThis is an equal opportunity role.
