 CNC MACHINISTSHEFFIELDUP TO 34173 DOE (INCLUDING SHIFT ALLOWANCE) SHIFT PATTERN:Days: Monday to Thursday 06:00 15:15Occasionally you will be required to work the afternoon shift depending on business needsAfters: Monday to Thursday 15:00 00:30 Progress Rail are looking to recruit a CNC Machinist to operate CNC Milling Machines and produce machined components to the production plan in a safe and efficient manner within the planned production time and to the required quality. THE ROLE:As a CNC Machinist you will be required to:Operate CNC milling machines.Accurately follow route card instructions SOP and reading of engineering drawings.Use of Dial test indicator (DTI) clock for probing and setting up the job.Identify and load the correct NC program and tooling for the parts to be machined.Use of overhead cranes will be required. Crane training would be an advantage but training will be provided.To inspect products either on completion of machining or as a pre-machining or in process check as specified in the manufacturing instruction. This may involve the use of conventional measurement techniques using gauges or instruments and templates.To carry out required machine parameter changes associated with the set up.To test/dry run new or modified programs using appropriate machine functions and making required adjustments to machine and tool offsets to achieve the required size.To use the SFDC system to record both direct and indirect works in line with the Companys procedures.To report possible or known errors in manufacturing instruction or other associated documentation to the Supervisor or Team leaderTo undertake any other task within the machine shop workflow when management requires.Self-inspection of parts produced resolving non - conformance issues. THE CANDIDATE:The ideal CNC Machinist:Previous experience should include manufacturing industry preferably in a medium to heavy environment.CNC milling experience.Knowledge of Fanuc Heidenheim and siemens would be an advantage.Ability to reading engineering drawingsAwareness of safety legislation and quality procedures (ISO 9001)Attention to detail BENEFITS:Up to 34173 DOE (including shift allowance)Company funded external qualifications where relevant for the roleAnnual professional membership funded by the Company where relevant for the role33 days holiday per annum pro rata (inclusive of bank/public holidays)Company pension scheme with 5% employee and 7% employer contributionAs a member of the Group Personal Pension Plan employee covered by the Company funded life assurance for 3½ times salaryAccess to employee discounts hubDiscounted healthcare cash planAccess to 24/7 free Employee Assistance programmeVarious employee recognition schemes ABOUT PROGRESS RAIL:Progress Rail a Caterpillar company is one of the largest integrated and diversified providers of rolling stock and infrastructure solutions and technologies for the global rail industry.
