We are British Automation - a young company doing a pretty unique thing.


We build complete automation solutions domestically in the UK. From vending and retail, to photography and display, we design, build, develop, code, install and maintain everything that we do.


In the short time we’ve existed, we’ve established our manufacturing base in the UK, released several successful products, and built relationships with some of the biggest and best companies in the country. 

But as a young company, we’re still finding our feet on the journey to a reputation for quality and innovation.


Role Description


Great software is at the heart of everything we build. You'll play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative features for our existing platform as well as creating the software that drives new products that we develop in time. You'll be working with a small team in a dynamic environment collaborating to build new and innovative products that deliver tangible day-to-day benefits.


Your daily responsibilities:


  • Work within an enthusiastic team of individuals that takes pride in delivering high-quality products to market;
  • Ideate, build, and iterate quickly on projects that enhance the user experience, streamline the function process;
  • Drive new features from prototype to production by collaborating closely with designers and other engineers;
  • You will continually develop and improve our code and technology;
  • Write high quality code, adhering to fundamental principles and best practices in coding to enable the reliable function of our products;
  • Ensure the scalability and security of our platform.


Skills you should have:


  • Have an in-depth understanding of the entire development process (design, development and deployment)
  • Competence in mainstream development languages and frameworks;
  • Excellent knowledge of the building blocks of the web including HTML, CSS and Browser API's;
  • Knowledge of AWS & other Cloud storage solutions;
  • Understanding of best practices in web security and scalability;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Knowledge or experience of project working and professional software development processes;
  • A strong eye for design and user experience;
  • A track record of taking ownership and driving projects to completion;
  • Proven experience with a strong portfolio of projects (GitHub or similar).
