IT & Security Lead

Permanent – £60k-£75k DOE

Location: Hybrid – Oxford


Your new company:


A leading Biotech organisation in Oxford, are currently looking for a IT & Security Lead to come in and lead the organisations current IT and Security infrastructure. The organisation have just signed 2 new agreements with 2 of the largest Biopharma companies in the world and have great growth plans for the upcoming years.


The role responsibilities:


You will be overseeing the IT and Security Architecture, and roadmap for the organisation. You will ensure that the technology supports the critical research and development, to advance RNA medicines. You will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of comprehensive IT and Security strategies and policies.


  • Manage the outsourced IT and Security partner relationships.
  • Develop, Implement, and maintain information security strategies and objectives to enhance the overall security posture of the business.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance amongst team members and stakeholders through training, education, and communication initiatives.
  • Dealing with any major cyber incidents should they arise.
  • Oversee regular assessments, testing and audits to identify potential risks and emerging security threats to IT systems and data. Proactively implement measures to mitigate those risks.
  • Streamline and maintain IT processes to be as efficient and user-friendly as possible.


You will need:


You will need to be able to take autonomy and initiative surrounding the IT & Security infrastructure and have a proven experience managing IT and/or security estates.


  • Experience leading and overseeing the IT and Security strategies.
  • Strong vendor management skills.
  • Experience working within, and implementing, cloud solutions, as well as experience with the Microsoft Enterprise Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.


What you’ll get in return:


You’ll play a big part in shaping an organisations overall IT and Security strategy and roadmap. You’ll be paid well, likely to be around the £60k-£75k mark. Your role will be hybrid, with an average of 2/3 days a week on site in Oxford. Benefits package to be confirmed.
