ROLE

As Finance Director, you will have a blend of hands-on financial responsibilities and strategic involvement. You’ll partner closely with non-finance stakeholders, particularly the Managing Director, ensuring clarity on financial performance and supporting key business decisions. This role is well-suited for someone ready to step into their first FD role, with a strong focus on financial/management accounts and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial and management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Provide financial insights to non-finance stakeholders to drive decision-making.
  • Support operational teams with budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis.
  • Develop and refine financial models to support business growth.
  • Lead financial reporting and compliance for the UK and global operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team on strategic initiatives and growth planning.


PERSON

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance professional with experience in engineering, manufacturing, or FMCG environments. You will be a strong communicator, comfortable working across all levels of the business, and have a keen eye for detail, particularly when working with spreadsheets and financial data.

Key Attributes:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or FMCG organisation is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial and management accounting expertise.
  • Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset, eager to take ownership and make an impact.
