The position is part-time Monday through Thursday and is located at the Franklin County Campus 925 Dinah Shore Blvd Winchester TN.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide individualized classroom and lab instruction to high school and adult students to prepare them for careers in welding.Demonstrate and explain welding techniques (SMAW GMAW GTAW OFC and PAC) in classroom and lab settings.Monitor grade and evaluate individual students progress.Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports.Assist in recruitment and placement of students.Maintain good public relations with business and industry and maintain an active advisory board.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent (HiSET acceptable).Postsecondary diploma or A.A.S. in Welding or related field preferred.AWS Certification Level I or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.3 years of approved work experience in the welding occupation:Experience with SMAW GMAW GTAW OFC and PAC using various materials.Fabrication and blueprint reading experience.Technical teaching experience a plus.Proficient in the principles and practices of the welding industry.Skilled in using industry-standard tools and equipment.Capable of teaching students tool use layout interpretation and blueprint reading for fabrication.Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and other common software programs.Strong organizational planning and communication skills for effective teaching.Ability to work effectively with high school and adult learners and to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students staff faculty industry partners and the public.Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling and policy a plus.Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. and move around the teaching area to demonstrate and perform occupational tasks (with or without accommodation).OSHA 10 certification preferred.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Review of resumes with completed employment application will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
