The Role


Equity Hedge Fund Trade Support (Boutique Equity Long/ Short Strategies) – Exciting Mayfair based Hedge Fund launch (Temp-to-Perm)


Martis Search are representing a boutique Mayfair based Hedge Fund start-up to hire a temporary Equity Hedge Fund Trade Support Analyst. The company plan to launch in the next 2-months, so it is such an exciting opportunity and time to join the business.


The Hedge Fund invests into Equity Long/ Short strategies and the role sits on their Trading Floor next to the Front Office Investment team (CEO, Fund Managers, Analysts, Sales & Marketing).


You will be working closely with and partnering with their Head of Operations/ COO and must have a proven track record working within a small Hedge Fund in a senior Equity Trade Support role.


Our client will use Enfusion as their OMS, so having knowledge of Enfusion is highly advantageous, but not mandatory. In addition, any working experience (from an Operational perspective) for Compliance/ “Disclosure Reporting” will catch the Head of Operations / COO’s attention.


Due to fund launch, our client is looking for someone to start asap, initially as a temp (you must be either immediately available, or on a 1-week, or 1-month notice period max), with the strong possibility for permanent, or even extension (remember it is a Hedge Fund launch, so our client needs someone to start asap and is cautious as business is at such an early stage).


The role reports into and works closely with their highly experienced Head of Operations/ COO. In essence, full “on-the-job-training” will be given by their experienced Head of Operations/ COO, so you would be learning from one of the best in the business.


You must either be from an Institutional Hedge Fund, or boutique Asset Management background have a minimum of x 2-years Equity “Hedge Fund” Trade Support background. The asset-classes they trade are Global Cash Equities, CFD’s, Futures & Options and FX.


Please note that this is a growth business and a small company, whereby everyone works well together and there is a real close-knit working relationship between everyone.


Due to that this is a “Hedge Fund” launch, our client’s policy is for everyone to be in the office x 5-days per week, with no flexibility.


You will be involved with the full Trade-Life Cycle and Investment Operations responsibilities, as well as related project management/ change experience, including:


  • The full Equity trade-life cycle, including Trade Matching/ Trade processing/ Trade Support, Settlement queries, Corporate Actions and working with NAV’s/ Valuations.
  • Liaising with all 3rd party Outsourced Operations Administrator (Enfusion), Prime Brokers and counterparties.
  • Understanding of the FCA regulatory framework investment compliance and UCITS fund regulations, as well “Disclosure Reporting” being highly advantageous.
  • Experience of Buyside Order Management Systems/ Portfolio Management Systems with a preference for Enfusion, or a similar Hedge Fund OMS.


Salary


Daily rate equivalent of between £60,000 k pa - £75,000 k pa, dependent upon experience (possible higher, but not yet confirmed).
