GENERAL SUMMARY

The Quality & EHS Manager will provide advice and support to the Worksop site in order to ensure compliance with all chosen ISO standards, Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and company policies. You will also have personal responsibility to drive, through follow up, the resolution of all critical subject matter issues, audit points and areas of noncompliance. Support Senior Leaders to ensure that the Company is always a compliant and safe place to work.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain, manage, and develop the Quality Management System (QMS) and HSE procedures, ensuring compliance with core 3rd party accreditations and customer specific certifications
  • To spearhead the quality function, taking strategic responsibility for quality development with customers, driving and further developing quality systems to ensure consistency, sustainability, and standardization to meet and exceed customer demands.
  • Develop, implement, and measure appropriate Quality and HSE KPI’s
  • To develop and embed a Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental culture throughout all aspects of the business through engagement and encouragement of employees to increase awareness and build clear responsibilities.
  • To actively encourage a culture of customer focus, continuous improvement, and Quality excellence.
  • Constantly assessing opportunities for health and safety improvements and sharing best practice across the organisation
  • Supporting the implementation, of risk management processes, including risk assessments, COSHH assessments and fire risk assessments
  • To ensure professional handling of non-conformities and customer complaints, specifically evaluating failures, Identifying root-cause and technical responsibility along with initiating containment and corrective actions
  • The role will require pro-active management of corrective actions and monitoring of results
  • Uses Quality and CI tools to solve quality and operations problems identified during quality activities. Tools include, but not limited to Root Cause Corrective Action techniques, statistical methods, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) systems.
  • Lead, manage and coordinate 3rd-party audits (regulatory bodies or Customer audits)
  • Periodic internal auditing of departments and processes in line with ISO standards and reporting on Quality and health and safety performance
  • Understanding the health, safety, environmental and associated legal requirements that are relevant to the business and ensure the teams comply with these
  • To ensure that key performance indicators (KPI’s) are issued and continuously monitored and promoted to encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Regular preparation of agreed dashboards and reports
  • Develop training materials and train/educate the workforce on the tools and techniques required for a successful QMS
  • Proactively support the warranty process within company
  • Obtain, compile, analyse and retain subject matter data relevant to the organisation and its performance to allow reporting, strategic review, objective setting, policy setting, and traceability
  • Identify training needs and to provide, or where necessary source, programs to help communicate and implement HSE policies, practice, and procedures within the site
  • Co-ordinator of the HSE Steering Committee
  • Manage and control the document management department, ensuring timely and accurate project documentation packs and Quality plans compliant with customer and industry standards (subject to CSR’s)
  • Consistent with Corporate policy create and maintain an efficient quality system to assure quality standards are met throughout all stages of design, procurement, and manufacture.
  • The compilation, approval, and control of QM manuals/procedures/work Instructions in conjunction with appropriate departments.
  • The evaluation, audit and approval of all suppliers / subcontractors, and management of the audit program at Worksop.
  • Ensure an effective and cost-effective tool and equipment calibration process
  • Quarterly reviews of the QMS systems and reporting findings to local senior management team/agreeing corrective actions and timescales
  • Review and advise on Pre-sale Quality contractual issues and stipulations, such as CSR’s/applied international standards/etc. (in support of the commercial organization)
  • Embracing the Celeros FT leadership standards, encourage development of personnel, whilst maintaining high standards of discipline and productivity.
  • Support Celeros FT company policies and operate with the highest ethical standards
  • Any other reasonable duties commensurate with position/experience and at the request of the Site Lead.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments in region identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.

  • Visiting supplier and Customer site as required to execute company QA business



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Previous experience with SAP or Oracle

Education and Experience

  • Extensive experience of project/capital equipment-based businesses
  • HND (or Equivalent) in Quality Inspection - as the minimum requirement, ideally degree qualified in (science or engineering back-ground)
  • Assurance or experience in these areas is also required (preferably within an Engineering background.)
  • Significant experience in ensuring compliance with National and International standards to include, but not limited to:
  • ISO 9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, ASME, PED
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the Quality aspects of complex contractor and subcontractor supplier relationships nationally and internationally.
  • Accredited as an ISO Lead / Internal auditor
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of analysing the business and to optimizing the QMS and related standards.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and official, external authority bodies (e.g., MoD)
  • Possesses a recognized Quality qualification and accreditation.
  • Demonstration of managing quality improvement programs successfully
  • Can define efficient and effective quality systems from first principles and influence through best practice.
  • Several years of experience in engineered pressure boundary equipment.
  • Demonstrated management experience and strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work with other functions/departments in a matrix organization
