Programme Advisory & Capital Excellence Manager – MPA

Base Location: We would look at London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds plus network of 20 offices nationally.

The Major Projects Advisory (MPA) practice sits in Customer, Operations, and Infrastructure (CO&I): one of seven super service lines across KPMG’s Advisory business. Operating from all over the UK we do work those matters, serving the Country with diligence and expertise.

You’re working with a huge variety of different teams and subject matter specialist across the infrastructure landscape.

What will you be doing?

Managing the delivery of client-facing work within specialist areas, ensuring new processes and tools are designed with a strong human /end user focus – this includes producing high-quality outputs with serious attention to detail

Designing and Mobilising Major Projects/Programmes

Looking after financial aspects of an engagement - ensuring we keep clients informed of costs and time incurred, in addition to raising invoices and recovering fees

Business development - identifying potential opportunities for new assignments and assisting with bids

What will you need to do it?

Experience working within a Project Delivery function within major Infrastructure programmes or experience in a project-based role in a Consulting firm.

In-depth experience of applying Project, Programme, Portfolio management (P3M) methodology – and a passion for the discipline.

Skills we’d love to see / amazing extras:

A good spread of experience using different software/applications (e.g. Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Oracle P6, Slack, Clarizen)

Relevant professional certification – e.g. APM PMQ/PPQ; MoP; MSP; PRINCE2

Expertise or sectoral knowledge of infrastructure asset management

Expertise in Project, Programme and Portfolio Controls

Experience of digital transformation and technology in infrastructure programmes, including application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Experience of capital planning or capital portfolio management

Knowledge of process and value stream efficiency and optimisation
