Rate of Pay: 451.40- 568.69 per day Summary: The Chief Accountant is responsible for and accountable to the Assistant Director Finance and Customer Services for the programming administration quality and control of the work of the Business Support team and the Technical Accounts including the Treasury Management function Responsibilities: Prepare the annual Statement of Accounts for each Council in accordance with current International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Statement of Recommended Practice meeting all statutory deadlinesDevelop the Final Accounts Timetable ensure roles and responsibilities are clear and achieve all deadlinesLiaise with external auditors regarding the approval of the annual Statement of Accounts and changes in accounting requirementsOversee the maintenance of the Councils Fixed Asset Register to ensure the depreciation charge is correctly maintained.Maintain and monitor the Councils grants register and ensure all external funding is correctly receipted recorded and allocatedProvide advice to Service Managers Assistant Directors and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on accounting systems in accordance with Financial Regulations.Act as an authorised signatory on the bank mandate to authorise the payment of invoices and purchase requisitions Essentials: Fully CCAB qualifiedFull UK Driving Licence5 GCSE grades A-C including Maths and English5 years post CCAB qualification experienceExperience of producing Statement of Accounts.Thorough knowledge of Accounting Principles Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.You should have right to work in U.K Disclaimer: Brackenberry Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
