With our training and guidance, you will become a key member of our small cross-functional Platform team working on IT, Infrastructure and Cloud. This role offers significant room for personal growth with an opportunity to make a big impact. You will start with day-to-day IT and grow to get involved in key projects - large and small - across IT, Infrastructure and Cloud.

The role will be hybrid with 2 days in our awesome Sherburn-in-Elmet office (which used to be a pub FYI - we have kept the bar for our regular social evenings/events) during normal office hours and 3 days remote.



As an IT Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • End-User Support: Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Device Support: Manage the lifecycle of end-user devices, including procurement, provisioning, and retirement. Provide support for Windows, macOS and Linux devices, including configuration, software installation, and troubleshooting.
  • M365: Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Intune: Manage Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and endpoint security.
  • Active Directory/Entra: Maintain and configure on-premises Active Directory (AD) and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Servers: Maintain both physical and virtual server environments (VMware vSphere/Hyper-V), including Windows Server and Linux distributions (e.g., Rocky Linux, Ubuntu).
  • Networking: Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.


To join our team, the following skills are required:


Essential

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills for user support and collaboration.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies as needed.
  • 2+ years of experience of providing end-user support and troubleshooting.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience of administration of a Microsoft 365/Windows environment.
  • Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Active Directory and Azure AD administration.
  • Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security.
  • Management and support a variety of end-user devices, including Windows and macOS.
  • Fundamental networking concepts, protocols, and devices.
  • PowerShell fundamentals.
  • Linux system fundamentals.



Desirable

  • Experience with hypervisors (e.g. VMware vSphere/ESXI, Hyper-V)
  • Working as part of an Agile team (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Using Jira for tracking work.
  • Using Jira Service Management for Helpdesk/ITSM.
  • Linux server administration.
  • Experience in an organisation implementing Cyber Essentials, SOC2 or ISO27001.
  • Azure and/or AWS administration.
  • Cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • PowerShell automation and scripting.
  • Linux server administration.
  • Bash/Shell automation and scripting.
